About
Restoring Solace
Why We Started
Before Restoring Solace existed, Chelsea spent over seven years running a professional cleaning business, working in homes across a wide range of situations, alongside Leanne, our Operations Manager, and Kelly, our Cleaning Supervisor. During that time, we repeatedly met people living in unsafe or overwhelming homes - not because they didn’t care, but because they were struggling. We saw first-hand how mental ill-health, disability, neurodiversity, trauma, bereavement, burnout, and lack of appropriate support can make everyday home management incredibly difficult.
What became clear was that standard cleaning services weren’t equipped for what was really needed. The work required time, flexibility, emotional awareness, and a trauma-informed approach - not pressure, judgement, or unrealistic expectations. At the same time, support services were stretched, and families and professionals often didn’t know who to turn to.
So we created Restoring Solace CIC - built on compassion, empowerment, and respect.
For us, this work goes beyond cleaning. It’s about restoring confidence, reducing overwhelm, and supporting people to move forward at a pace that works for them.
WHY
THIS MATTERS
Breaking the Stigma
We are passionate about raising awareness around:
-
Hoarding and the shame that often surrounds it
-
How mental health conditions impact daily living
-
How neurodivergent disabilities such as ADHD and autism cause executive dysfunction which can affect motivation, organisation, and energy
-
The impact of burnout and overwhelm on individuals and carers
Many people are never taught basic household skills. With schools no longer teaching home economics, and children leaving care often expected to cope without adequate preparation, too many people are left struggling without support.
We believe education, understanding, and compassion are essential to creating long-term change.
OUR
MISSION
OUR
VALUES
A society where no one is shamed, excluded, or left behind because they struggle to maintain their home.
We envision communities where mental health, disability, neurodiversity, and life challenges are met with understanding, practical support, and compassion - not stigma.
To create calm where there is chaos, restore dignity where there is distress, and empower individuals to maintain safe, healthy homes.
Compassion First
We lead with kindness, empathy, and respect. Every situation is treated with care and understanding.
No Judgement
We recognise that struggling to maintain a home is not a personal failure. We challenge stigma and shame wherever we see it.
Dignity & Respect
Everyone deserves to live in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment, regardless of circumstance.
Understanding & Education
We believe long-term change comes from knowledge, support, and realistic solutions — not quick fixes.
Person-Centred Support
We work at each person’s pace, adapting our approach to their needs, abilities, and lived experience.
Community Impact
We exist to reduce inequality, support vulnerable people, and create lasting positive change within our communities.
OUR
VISION
Our
Team
This is your Team section. It's a great place to introduce your team and talk about what makes it special, such as your culture and work philosophy. Don't be afraid to illustrate personality and character to help users connect with your team.
I have ran a cleaning business for was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 30, and I am raising a child with AuDHD.
I understand first-hand the constant mental load, overwhelm, burnout, and stress that can come from trying to juggle daily life, responsibilities, and expectations when executive functioning, energy, and capacity don’t work in a “typical” way.
Living this has given me a deep understanding of how quickly home management can slip when you are exhausted or overstretched - and how easy it is to feel like you’re failing, even when you’re doing your best.
I have always had a massive passion for helping people. I started working with young children in a Primary School setting when I left college. This is where I learnt the importance of safeguarding.
I then spent around 8 years working in a care home with elderly people where I was trained in dementia awareness and safeguarding vulnerable adults. I then had my daughter and to fit around Mum life I began to work as a cleaner which I really enjoyed.
I absolutely love decluttering, and I find this is my strongest skill. Helping people transform their homes into more manageable, stress-free environments is something I find incredibly rewarding.
