Our mission

To create calm where there is chaos, restore dignity where there is distress, and help people build safer, more manageable homes and everyday lives

We support neurodivergent people, disabled people, individuals and families facing overwhelm, isolation or difficult life circumstances. Between us, our directors bring practical experience and lived understanding of neurodivergence, mental health challenges, caring responsibilities and periods of low capacity. That understanding shapes how we work: with choice, flexibility, clear communication and realistic expectations. We break tasks into achievable steps and focus on empowerment rather than pressure or perfection.

"You are not failing. You are overwhelmed and you do not have to do this alone."

Our story

Before Restoring Solace existed, Chelsea our founder spent over seven years running a professional cleaning business, working in homes across a wide range of situations alongside Leanne, our Operations Manager, and Kelly, our Cleaning Supervisor. We repeatedly met people living in unsafe or overwhelming homes because they were struggling and needed understanding and support. We saw first-hand how mental health challenges, neurodivergence, disability, trauma, bereavement, burnout and caring responsibilities can make everyday home management incredibly difficult. Standard cleaning services could not always provide the time, flexibility and practical guidance people needed. So we created Restoring Solace CIC, built on compassion, empowerment and respect. Our work goes beyond cleaning: we help people reduce overwhelm, build everyday skills and confidence, and move forward at a pace that works for them.

Before Restoring Solace existed, Chelsea spent over seven years running a professional cleaning business, working in homes across a wide range of situations, alongside Leanne, our Operations Manager, and Kelly, our Cleaning Supervisor. During that time, we repeatedly met people living in unsafe or overwhelming homes - not because they didn’t care, but because they were struggling. We saw first-hand how mental health challenges, disability, neurodiversity, trauma, bereavement, burnout, and lack of appropriate support can make everyday home management incredibly difficult.

What became clear was that standard cleaning services could not always provide the specialist support, understanding, emotional awareness and a trauma-informed approach people needed- not pressure, judgement, or unrealistic expectations. At the same time, support services were stretched, and families and professionals often didn’t know who to turn to.

So we created Restoring Solace CIC - built on compassion, empowerment, and respect.

For us, this work goes beyond cleaning. It’s about restoring confidence, reducing overwhelm, and supporting people to move forward at a pace that works for them.

Who we are

Founder & Director

Chelsea

I was diagnosed with ADHD at 30 and I am raising a child with both ADHD and autism. I understand first-hand the mental load, overwhelm, burnout and stress of juggling daily life when energy, capacity and executive functioning do not work in a typical way. My professional experience showed me how to help other people, while my own life taught me how hard it can be to ask for support. Restoring Solace brings that practical experience and lived understanding together.

Director

Leanne

Leanne worked alongside Chelsea in the original cleaning business as Operations Manager. She brings practical experience and a passion for helping people make their homes more manageable. Our shared experience of supporting people through overwhelm shapes a calm, patient approach that respects each person’s needs and pace.

Director

Kelly

Kelly worked alongside Chelsea in the original cleaning business as Cleaning Supervisor. She brings experience of compassionate home support and an understanding of the importance of trust, dignity and respect. Our team works together to help people feel heard and supported while taking realistic steps towards a more manageable home.
